Dragonfly - The word means “ Change” - Dragonfly’s Mission Statement is to change the way the world harvests the natural energy of wind in order to provide a safe, economic and evironmentally friendly wind turbine technology.
“Make it smaller, more efficient, just as powerful, safer for wildlife, community, maintenance crews to install and work on at ground level.” Not an easy task…
In 2008 a Youtube video showed a wind turbine literally chopping itself down in high wind conditions…The flaw in this design was exposed and today wind turbines are forced to shut down in winds above 55mph.
Instead of using a giant propeller our New Wind Generator sits inside the housing of what looks like a Jet Engine. This new wind generator is a redundant system and signfically better at producing electricity than the traditional 3 bladed wind turbines that are on the market today.
A 7 year project in the making has turned this Concept to Design has already proving itself with independant testing and this new wind generator will become the…

Phillip Ridings / CEO / Inventor
The first concept of the Dragonfly technology came after witnessing a video of a wind turbine exploding and cutting itself down. That spark of inspiration told him there had to be a better way. Shrouded or “Ducted” systems have been around for years but not like this… Phillip created a renewable energy system that is unlike any traditional 3 bladed system. This revolutionary turbine system is more efficient, safer for humans and wildlife - “Dragonfly Wind Turbines - Harnessing the Power of the Wind in Balance with Nature.

In 2014 I was introduced to something revolutionary. We hear about revolutionary things all of the time but I believe this will truly be so. As a power generation professional with 15+ years with one of the nation’s largest wind power producers I have seen the evolution of wind turbines to where they are now. To date the industry has been able to generate in the range of 3 MW on a very large platform. This requires extreme height, significant geographical footprint and fairly significant wind speed. The size and complexity of these machines makes maintenance very expensive thereby driving down the profitability of wind generation. Additionally, there are environmental issues with avian kills as well as those posed by the large amount of lubricants stored in the nacelle.Dragonfly Industries is going to take the maintenance intensive proposition of wind power generation to a much more profitable place with their technology. This is a simple technology with a design that will help limit EFOR events and will make maintenance much less expensive due their innovations. They will make renewable energy more profitable. They have also made it more environmentally friendly by addressing the environmental issues. They don’t have oil spill risk because they don’t require the large amounts of oil in the units and there is no risk of avian strike. Another advantage is this technology is also truly scalable which makes the application extremely versatile. In my opinion, the Dragonfly Wind Turbine will change the face of wind generation in the years to come. • Kirk Flowers – Power Generation Maintenance Professional Accuratus Industrial & Safety Svcs

There is a balance to our new pole system. It requires two nacelles per pole creating a redundant power source. As we have tried to reduce all of the known issues associated with 3 blades systems we wanted to create a new solution whereby you, the client, would never be without power.
Try going through a day without using any power at all.

Dragonfly’s Mission is to change the way the world harvests the natural energy of the wind in order to provide a safe, economic and evironmentally friendly wind turbine technology.
Dragonfly’s Vision is to partner with communities and leading wind energy organizations to bring the Wind Industry into the modern “Jet Age"
Dragonfly Industries International, LLC (Dragonfly) is an Texas-based
company that will bring this first true innovation of a wind turbine design in
thirty-five years. Our design has departed from the large three bladed,
“prop on a pole” design, as seen across todays landscape. Dragonfly
turbines are an aerodynamic design that addresses fundamental
deficiencies exhibited in today’s wind turbine industry. With our
shrouded “jet engine” architecture, we generate significantly
more power than a conventional three bladed wind turbine,
while drastically reducing the environmental impact.
Our stated goal is that we are...
“Harnessing the Power of Wind in Balance with Nature”.
Our current initial international partners are listed as:
Dragonfly Industries International-Africa,
Dragonfly Industries International-South Korea.
We are about to set a new Standard...Company Information
After listening to engineers, there were new answers that needed to be discovered before we could say that Dragonfly was going raise that proverbial bar and become the New Gold Standard in harvesting the winds power.
According to the new numbers, discounting Betz Law, we have validation and can produce up to 2.0 times the energy. While this results is satisfying, by any production standard, the new production number we had set for our design appeared to be elusive…Until March of this year.
Earlier this year two new solutions were added to our productive design and this created the opportunity to produce a new Power Curve (Plus). We have already been proven right when comparing our Projected Power Curve with the published results from Clarkson University (see link below). This new Power Curve Plus today stands as the projected results with the Addison of two new technologies to our basic Dragonfly design and should increase the performance up to 170%... or higher. Our goal is to harness about 80% of the winds energy, as shown with the white dotted line on the newest chart. I can almost hear the chuckles under your breath but don’t be so quick to judge - you were wrong about us before. What if we have managed to cracked this “wind barrier”?
Betz Limit - You would be wrong...Company InformationSeptember, 2017
When our new design concept was presented to the general public, and a few engineering companies, they would defer to the theory of Betz Limit or Betz Law. No consideration was given to the fact that this “theory" only applied to “Open Rotor” systems. Dragonfly is a "Ducted design" or Closed Rotor system. Therefore, this theory has no merit nor can it be applied to any ducted system. The fact is Albert Betz never tested this theory on a ducted system in 1919. The first ducted system didn’t exhisted until the following year, in 1920, invented by Dew Oliver. For the past 4 years the opposition has used this outdated theory against our new technology trying to denounce us, “You can’t break Betz Limit!” Today, the power curve we created in 2013 compliments the test results publish by Clarkson University and proves, once and for all, our numbers were correct… Dragonfly will produce 2 times the Power, or more...? We are looking forward to showing you…The Next Generation Wind Turbine.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXxA-RkwuRY
Dragonfly is set to become the New Gold Standard.
If you need more proof…Check out “WindLens" in Japan.
Think about it… the “Sound Barrier” was broken in 1947. Isn’t it about time we broke this elusive Wind Barrier? This is what Dragonfly is all about… breaking through outdated ideas.

Construction on the new Wind Farm is pulled after the city of Elm Springs lost its battle in the annexation of the 311 acres. CEO Jody Davis, quoted, "We should be 2nd wind farm project ever to be issued a low effect HCP in the United States." This document, the Habitat Conservation Planning, is granted by the U.S. Department of Interior, Fish and Wildlife Services and means that within the guidelines of DII’s new technology it has past their testing requirements for endangered or threatened species.

Dragonfly Industries to Suspend Northwest Arkansas Wind Farm Project
Statement of Jody Davis, CEO
March 2, 2016
After yesterday's vote to repeal property annexation by Elm Springs, the board of directors of Dragonfly Industries has decided to suspend efforts to site a wind farm project in northwest Arkansas. The company will be focusing resources on other opportunities which have arisen, and on continuing the development phase of our technology. We're grateful to those who were willing to consider the potential of this very promising technology, and wish the citizens of Elm Springs the best in their efforts to develop their community.
